About Renegade:

Command & Conquer Renegade is a fast paced multi player game, There are different types of multi player game play.

 AOW

 All Out War

 In AOW games there are two teams each have there own base to protect as well as destroy the enemy's. All maps are different in size and can vary on the amount of structures on a map e.g. Most maps have an advanced guard tower (GDI) or an obelisk (NOD) which will attack an enemy upon entering the base, not all maps have these two structures making the map slightly harder to defend and easier to sneak into the enemy's base undetected.

 All maps have a barracks (GDI) or hand of nod (NOD), this structure allows you to buy the advanced characters (Note-These characters have better weapons) and if this structure gets destroyed then your team will only be able to purchase four basic characters with basic weapons. All maps have a tiberium refinery this structure builds your credits, if this structure gets destroyed you will only earn credits by destroying structures & killing enemy soldiers.

 Each base has a power plant (Not all maps) if this gets destroyed the cost of all characters and vehicles will double in price AND your base advanced guard tower or obelisk will stop working. The weapons factory (GDI) or nod air strip (NOD) allows you to buy vehicles such as tanks, buggy's or even a helicopter on some maps, If this structure gets destroyed your team will not be able to purchase vehicles. Some games are timed server's may vary, If time runs out before any base is destroyed, the team with the highest score wins. There is one last thing to win an AOW match, Inside your barracks or hand of nod you will see a round platform on the floor, Its known as a Pedestal (PED), Buy an ion canon beacon or nuclear strike beacon (1000credits) and place it on the enemy's PED to win the match. Not all servers have the ped active.

 Death Match

  In death match games there are no structures to defend (Servers may vary). These games are basically just fighting with weapons and maybe the odd vehicle, There are no purchase terminals so you cant buy characters or vehicles. Some maps are in buildings others in big open areas. Take a good look around for better weapons (Watch for snipers) some weapons you can't reach without a chopper others you can only get when you spawn next to it. Death match games are fun to play without having to worry about your base all the time. There is two teams in death match games, The team with the highest score at the end of the game wins. Theses games are timed, some server's may vary.
 COOP

Missions

 

 In Coop games (My favourite), Everyone is on the same team fighting against bots to complete a mission. To complete these missions destroy enemy structures (Note I did not say all), Be aware when specific structures are destroyed more enemy reinforcements are dropped where that structure was destroyed. Some structures when destroyed will drop reinforcements for your team like a medium tank or some of your own team bots, yet the bots can sometimes get in the way. Most missions can only be won via a placed beacon on a PED. These games are also timed, Usually about 3 hours per map, some server's may vary.

 CTF

 Capture The Flag

 

  

  In CTF games you've pretty much got to do what is says, Capture the flag which is in the enemy's base and return it to your base without getting killed. To win the match you may have to get the flag and return it to your base several times, although some servers may be different. The first team to collect all required flags wins the game.

 
Sniper  In sniper games there are no guns other than than sniper rifles, You may get a pistol and on some servers and if your lucky you will find another type of gun around the map. This game is a bit like a DM game, only no vehicles (Note: Some severs may very).

Useful Tips

Not all servers allow you to donate.

 

Radio commands

In Renegade there are many radio commands which you can say during a game (Note only your team can hear them). Copy and print this easy to use chart and place in front of your screen.  Make it quick and easy, See what you want to say.

Vehicles

Some vehicles have the same armour strength as the enemy's like the buggy, apc and choppers, However there are a few different vehicles for both teams which have different strengths of armour. nod has an advantage over the enemy as they have an extra vehicle which is a stealth tank making it very hard to spot so be aware. The nod artillery tank has good armour and a powerful shot, this vehicle is best driven backwards as you can see round corners better. The nod flamer tank also has good armour and is best used to block the enemy's view from your tanks with a wall of fire. The nod light tank has the weakest armour out of all the nod tanks and its fire power is not that good.

Caution to those who use the gdi mobile rocket launcher, This vehicle has very weak armour but has a powerful shot. The gdi mammoth tank is very slow to drive but has good armour and a devastating shot seems it can fire two types of rockets. The gdi medium tank has good armour and a powerful shot, Like the nod artillery tank this vehicle is best driven backwards to get a better view round corners. The fastest vehicle on both teams is the recon bike which has weak armour and takes time to reload its weapon, Note: The recon bike is only on limited maps.

Extras

Only some servers allow extras, With extras enabled you can purchase new characters and vehicles. In order to turn extras on, whilst in game press the F8 key (Note: A command prompt will appear in the top left corner of the screen). Now type EXT and press enter, It will say one of two things - Extras enabled or Not allowed in laddered games. If the game is laddered then extras will not be available. So now its enabled, go up to the purchase terminal (PT) and hold left ALT whilst you buy a character or vehicle.
